Two of the main frameworks of problem-solving that Lean Six Sigma utilizes are DMAIC and DMADV – they might sound the same but they have a lot of differences. Application of DMAIC

Breaking down the DMAIC, short for (D) –Define; (M) – Measure; (A) – Analyze; (I) – Improve; and (C) – Control is a framework or a methodology used by businesses in order for their business processes to be improved and developed.
Define
This phase is where the company would “define” what the problem is with a certain business process.
Measure
“Measure,” following define is the phase wherein the business would be measuring how much is lost in the process while it’s not amended, improved, or developed.
Analyze
The next phase is “Analyze” and it’s the phase where businesses would analyze how they can make a certain business process better and more developed through a series of tests, assessments, observations, etc.
Improve
Once the process is analyzed well-enough, the business would then work to “Improve” that certain part of the phase. It can be a replacement of a part, modification in the activity, changing of people, etc.
Control
So your business was able to solve the problem and you’re performing better than ever. Through the control phase, you’ll need to control it in order to keep everything steadied – while doing other experiments and assessments to try and somehow navigate through a better path.
