Is there any required instrument?
Nothing else but the statistics and information of your processes and company. Lean Six Sigma uses only statistical instruments, which means you don’t have to invest in more tools like in other methodologies.
However, if there’s something in specific, that would be a Lean Value Stream Mapping, which involves drawing a map of your production cycle, pointing out all processes, and identifying the waste and problems in each one of them. Once this map is done, draw a second one but without all the waste and problems as if you eliminate and solved them. The second map will be your goal, and this is an excellent way to know how to approach all the projects.
